Aaron Donald had a formal workout with the Rams on Monday, according to the NFL transaction wire. Per Pro Football Talk, Donald worked out in a helmet and pads to evaluate how he personally felt, rather than for the Rams to assess his readiness.

CBS Sports reported that Donald used team equipment during the workout in Los Angeles, which required the Rams to report his activity on the NFL transaction wire. NFL Trade Rumors noted that the team has made clear they are waiting on Donald to make his decision about a comeback.

Donald, a three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year, retired from the NFL in 2022. The workout represents another indication he is moving closer to making a final decision on a potential return to the league.
