Privacy Policy

What we collect
If you create an account: your email address, username, and a securely hashed password (we never store plaintext passwords). If you use community features: the teams you follow, and the comments and likes you post. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent) may be retained briefly for security and debugging. We also record first-party usage analytics — pages viewed and links clicked within BenchScout, tied to a random first-party identifier — to understand what content matters and to support the service; this data stays with us and is never sold.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not share your email with anyone.
Cookies
BenchScout uses a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. No cross-site tracking cookies are set.
What's public
Your username, bio, followed teams, and comments are visible on your public profile. Your email address is never public.
Data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us via the social channels listed in the footer.
Third-party links
News stories and video highlights link to external sites (e.g. ESPN, MLB.com) which have their own privacy policies.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
