Chad Baker-Mazara, who led USC in scoring, has filed a lawsuit against the university and coach Eric Musselman following his dismissal from the team in March. The lawsuit was filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Baker-Mazara's claims center on two primary allegations. Per CBS Sports, he contends that Musselman directed a racially charged tirade at him before removing him from the roster after 25 games. Yahoo Sports reports that the lawsuit also alleges Musselman dismissed Baker-Mazara after USC was eliminated from NCAA Tournament contention in order to avoid paying the remainder of his NIL contract.
The circumstances surrounding Baker-Mazara's departure have not been previously detailed in public reporting, and the university and Musselman have not yet responded to the allegations.
