The Bears placed left tackle Braxton Jones on injured reserve Saturday, per multiple outlets. ESPN reported that Jones sustained a right knee injury during the Bears' Week 3 win over the Philadelphia Eagles and did not practice all week before being shelved.
Theo Benedet will start at left tackle against the Jets, ESPN reported. The Bears also elevated defensive end Marcus Davenport and cornerback Nick McCloud from the practice squad as part of the roster moves announced Saturday.
Jones, 27, was a fifth-round pick by Chicago in the 2022 draft out of Southern Utah and was in the final year of his rookie contract, per NFL Trade Rumors.
