The Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears have all called the Tampa Bay Buccaneers regarding Pro Bowl defensive tackle Vita Vea, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Vea remains at odds with the Buccaneers over his contract and is not currently practicing.
One source indicated that the 49ers have engaged in trade talks with Tampa Bay about Vea, who reportedly requested a trade after contract negotiations stalled. Despite the inquiries, the Buccaneers plan to keep Vea, according to Garafolo.
The Bills' interest comes as the team faces a sudden need along the interior defensive line following news that defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis will be suspended for the first three games of the 2026 NFL season.
