The Blue Jays claimed catcher Shawn Ross off waivers from the Mets and assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo, per MLB Trade Rumors. New York designated Ross for assignment two days before the claim.

Ross becomes the latest move by Toronto as the team continues to reshape its roster. The assignment to Buffalo suggests the Blue Jays view him as a minor league depth option rather than an immediate major league contributor.
