Alec Bohm tripled to deep center field in the 10th inning Friday night, driving in two runs as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 7-6 in the opening game of their three-game series in Philadelphia.
Jesus Luzardo started for the Phillies while Hunter Dobbins took the mound for St. Louis. The Cardinals scored first on a two-out, two-run home run by Joshua Baez off Luzardo, per one account of the game.
Per one source, the Phillies improved to 71-58 with the victory, extending their winning streak to seven games and pulling within four games of the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves. The Cardinals fell to 66-64.
