The Boston Bruins will soon hold discussions about filling their captain vacancy, per Scott McLaughlin of WEEI. According to McLaughlin's conversation with Cam Neely on NESN, the team's brass—including Neely, general manager Don Sweeney, and coach Marco Sturm—are set to meet to address the leadership structure heading into the 2026-27 season.
The reporting does not specify when the meeting will occur or indicate whether a captain will be named before next season begins.
In separate news, the Bruins will also play two regular-season games in Munich, Germany, during the 2027-28 season as part of the NHL's Global Series, the league announced Thursday. The Edmonton Oilers will play two games in Cologne during the same season. The Bruins' opponents for their Munich games have not been determined.
