The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive tackle Vita Vea have agreed to a one-year, $30 million extension, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal keeps Vea under contract with the team through the 2027 season.
One outlet reported that Vea had requested a trade after extension talks broke down, though the Buccaneers ultimately decided to keep the two-time Pro Bowl player. Another source indicated Vea received a $6 million raise for the 2026 season as part of the agreement.
The extension comes as the Buccaneers prepare for the upcoming season with quarterback Baker Mayfield, who expressed confidence in the team's prospects on Tuesday.
