The Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-1 on Thursday, completing a three-game road sweep. Gerrit Cole was the standout performer, pitching six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts, according to ESPN and Sportsnet.
Luis Garcia Jr. and Spencer Jones each homered for New York in the victory. One outlet noted that the win came as the Yankees received potentially positive news regarding Aaron Judge, while others highlighted the contributions of trade deadline acquisitions to the team's performance.
