The Colts are willing to trade running back Jonathan Taylor and are in active talks with several teams, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. ESPN said multiple teams have reached out to Indianapolis. Reddit posts relaying Schefter's reporting describe the talks as "active and ongoing".
The asking price is the most specific detail. A post crediting NFL Network's Tom Pelissero says the Colts already turned down a 2027 second-round pick plus an additional pick for Taylor. It adds that this shows they want a premium for "the face of the franchise". We only have that one account, relayed through Reddit. The summaries we have don't say which pick was added or which team made the offer.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, echoed by Yahoo Sports, named the Seahawks, Packers, Broncos, Vikings and Giants as potential destinations. His summary calls them "pegged" as possible fits. Neither it nor the ESPN reporting says those teams have made offers. Seattle, Green Bay and Denver all have winning-to-even records, and Minnesota is 6-0, according to our standings. The Giants are 4-2 and lead the NFC East, and their next game is at Philadelphia on Nov. 8.
Indianapolis is 2-5 and on a three-game losing streak, in second place in the AFC South, 2.5 games behind Jacksonville (4-2). The Colts lost 16-10 at Minnesota on Oct. 25, 26-20 to Tennessee and 34-22 at Pittsburgh. Their run differential is -26. None of the reporting explains why the Colts are open to a deal, so we won't guess.
Taylor has 587 rushing yards on 140 carries, 4.2 yards per carry, with eight rushing touchdowns in seven games. He ran for 1,585 yards at 4.9 per carry in 2025 and scored 18 rushing touchdowns that year. He also has 17 catches for 178 yards this season. He has fumbled twice in 2026 and lost both, against Baltimore and Tennessee. His best recent game was 95 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries at Minnesota, one of the teams on Florio's list.
Indianapolis plays at Jacksonville on Sunday, Nov. 1, and Taylor is still on the Colts' roster for it. No outlet we have gives a deadline for a deal.
