Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Dustin May exited his start against the New York Mets after throwing just one pitch Wednesday night, having been struck by a line drive. According to ESPN, the comebacker came off the bat of A.J. Ewing and hit May in the upper back. MLB.com reported the ball was traveling at 106 mph.
May was replaced on the mound after the injury. Deadspin reported that X-rays came back negative. The Brewers ultimately won the game 8-1, with reliever Robert Gasser taking over after May's exit and the offense led by Sal Frelick.
