Jeanie Buss filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court this week asking a judge to block her five siblings from selling the family's 17.8% share of the Lakers, per The Athletic's reporting. The siblings had announced their intention to sell to Bob Iger and Joshua Kushner, according to multiple outlets.

In her court filing, Buss accused her siblings of "devious behavior" in pursuing the sale and called for them to "be held in contempt," per Yahoo Sports. The petition also seeks to remove them as family trustees, according to Jack Baer's reporting for Yahoo Sports.

The legal battle comes as Joey and Jesse Buss, two of the five siblings, have begun investing elsewhere. They recently joined the ownership group of the San Diego Padres as minority owners with approximately a 5% stake in the team, per multiple reports. The Buss brothers' involvement with the Padres occurred through Buss Sports Capital, their investment vehicle.
