Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs will make his first court appearance on September 10, per multiple reports, moving up the hearing from an originally scheduled November 17 date. ESPN reported the initial court appearance on misdemeanor charges has been moved up more than two months.

Acme Packing Company reported that Jacobs was placed on the NFL's commissioner exempt list before the league's final cutdowns to teams' initial 53-man rosters for the 2026 season. The outlet added that Jacobs is set to face charges of battery and criminal damage in Brown County, and that the Packers' organization stated they will stand by him.

Pro Football Talk attributed the expedited timeline to the fact that paid leave puts a premium on accelerating the prosecution. Yahoo Sports noted that the September 10 date puts the hearing just three days before Week 1 of the NFL season.
