The Yankees will place Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain, the team announced. According to Yahoo Sports, Judge sustained the injury in Minnesota during an extra-inning loss to the Twins.
Judge last played on September 16, per MLB Trade Rumors, meaning the transaction could be backdated to September 17. Yahoo Sports reported that the timing would prevent him from returning until the Yankees' final game of the regular season.
The setback comes after Judge had played just seven games since returning from a lengthy absence due to a broken rib, ESPN reported. The Yankees will announce the corresponding roster move at a later time.
