Sam Lafferty made his season and Panthers debut as the fourth-line center in Florida's home opener against the Wild. However, the Panthers' home debut turned sour as Minnesota spoiled the occasion with a 4-1 victory.
Kirill Kaprizov led the Wild's offensive onslaught with three goals and an assist for a four-point night. Matt Boldy also contributed, scoring his first goal of the season just one minute into the game. Per ESPN, the Wild's strong start and Kaprizov's performance proved decisive in the matchup.
