The Seattle Seahawks have officially been sold to the Khosla family, with the transaction closing Thursday. Per Sportsnet, the purchase price was $9.612 billion.

The sale transferred ownership from Paul Allen's estate, which had controlled the franchise for over three decades. Allen purchased the Seahawks in 1997 to prevent the team's relocation to Southern California, according to Field Gulls reporting.

NFL owners unanimously approved the sale, per Deadspin's reporting. Field Gulls also reported that a full list of co-owners was revealed, though the details were not available in the reporting reviewed.
