Klay Thompson has agreed to a buyout with the Dallas Mavericks and is expected to sign with the Miami Heat, per multiple reports. The 36-year-old will provide shooting support alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, addressing a need the Heat identified during the offseason.

According to Hoops Rumors, Thompson will sign a two-year deal worth approximately $13 million and will be Miami's 13th player under standard contract. His tenure in Dallas lasted two seasons, with one year remaining on a three-year, $50 million contract he signed in 2024. Yahoo Sports reported that the Lakers were also pursuing Thompson but will miss out on a potential homecoming.
