The New York Knicks have jumped up CBS Sports' latest NBA front office rankings following their championship run, though the team does not rank first overall. The rankings, released in two parts by Sam Quinn, assess the 15 best front offices in the league.
In the lower tier, the Lakers, Trail Blazers, and Nuggets found themselves near the bottom of the rankings. The Nuggets' placement came after making a trade that, according to CBS Sports, was unpopular. Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports reported that Celtics owner Chisholm defended his team's Jaylen Brown trade, saying he was convinced by the organization's decision-makers, described as the "best brains in basketball," despite the deal not sitting well with many fans.
The Knicks' title win also had spillover effects off the court. Yahoo Sports reported that the championship run added complications to the wedding of forward Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods in the same offseason.
