Johnson told reporters that the Eagles gave him time to handle personal matters, and noted "it's looking this will potentially be my last year," per reporting on his press conference remarks. ESPN reported that Johnson is "likely entering his final NFL season," while Sportsnet noted he is "beginning to look beyond football" after more than a decade in the league.
The announcement comes after questions about Johnson's status heading into 2025 due to previous health issues. He ultimately decided to return for the season rather than step away from the game.
