Lions center Cade Mays suffered a wrist injury during training camp and will miss a significant amount of time, coach Dan Campbell said Monday. ESPN reported the injury is expected to sideline Mays for roughly 8-10 weeks.
Mays was signed in free agency to upgrade the Lions' offensive line. Despite the lengthy absence, Campbell indicated he expects Mays to return at some point this season rather than miss the entire year.
The injury represents a setback for Detroit's offseason plans at a critical position on the offensive line.
