The Detroit Lions have placed defensive end Payton Turner on injured reserve, per multiple reports. Turner did not play in any games during the 2025 season and will not return to regular season action this year, Pro Football Talk and Yahoo Sports reported.

Turner, 27, was a first-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Houston, per NFL Trade Rumors. He was entering the fourth year of his rookie contract when placed on injured reserve. The Lions also signed defensive back Eric Scott to a contract in connection with the move, according to NFL Trade Rumors.
