The Detroit Lions survived a dramatic second-half collapse to beat the New Orleans Saints 31-30 in overtime Sunday, as Tyler Shough's incomplete pass on a two-point conversion attempt ended the Saints' comeback bid.
New Orleans clawed back from a 21-point deficit in the second half to force overtime, but couldn't complete the improbable turnaround. Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs led Detroit's offense with 156 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown finished with 10 catches and two scores.
The victory gives the Lions a 1-0 record to start the season. The Saints fall to 0-1 and will face the 1-0 Baltimore Ravens next.
