The NFL has fined the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints $500,000 each for fights that broke out during their joint practice this week in Oxnard, California. According to NFL Trade Rumors, the NFL sent a memo before camp reminding teams of their responsibility to prevent unsportsmanlike behavior at joint practices in order to reduce injury risk.
Multiple reports describe the incidents as double-digit fights. Yahoo Sports characterized Tuesday's practice as seeing "punches thrown and bodies and helmets tossed" during the altercations between the two teams.
