Ole Miss moved into the top five of The Associated Press Top 25 poll after defeating LSU, per ESPN. The Tigers stayed in the top 10, landing at No. 10. The win gave Ole Miss what CBS Sports' Brandon Marcello described as two of the very best wins in college football so far this season.

The ranking shuffle expanded the Southeastern Conference's footprint in the Top 25. Florida and Mississippi State cracked the rankings for the first time, giving the SEC 10 total teams in the poll. According to ESPN, LSU remained among those 10 ranked SEC programs despite the loss to Ole Miss.
