Mason Heintschel, one of the top young quarterbacks in college football, will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, sources told ESPN on Saturday. Pitt was undefeated at the time of the injury.
Heintschel went down during the Panthers' win over Virginia Tech on Friday night, per CBS Sports. The injury ends what had been a strong start to the 2026 season for both the quarterback and the program.
