Leonard's agent, Harrison Gaines of Slash Sports, confirmed the agreement to ESPN on Tuesday. The extension will begin in the 2027-28 season, after Leonard completes a $50.3 million final year with the team in 2026-27. The deal includes a player option for the 2028-29 season.
According to CBS Sports, Leonard's new contract comes in slightly below the max. ESPN also reported that Leonard "expects to retire" in Toronto after signing the extension, suggesting the star forward is committed to finishing his career with the franchise.
