The Boston Red Sox will host the San Francisco Giants on Friday night with right-hander Sonny Gray taking the mound for Boston against Giants starter Logan Webb, per multiple outlets.
Rafael Devers figures prominently in the Red Sox lineup. Yahoo Sports noted that Devers will draw significant attention in the series, though one outlet reported that the Red Sox star is returning to Fenway with a focus on the present: "I don't want to think about the past," Devers said, per Sportsnet.
The Giants are struggling this season. Yahoo Sports reported that San Francisco is on pace for 100 losses, underlining the disparity between the two teams heading into Friday's contest.
