Sarkisian's concern stems from experience. During January's College Football Playoff national championship game, Trump's departure caused headset communication problems for Miami, per multiple reports. CBS Sports reported that sources confirmed Miami briefly lost communication during the game, though they disputed whether the disruption occurred on the final drive. All sources indicated the issue lasted only a play or two and did not affect the outcome of Indiana's victory.
With that precedent in mind, Sarkisian indicated Texas is taking steps to account for similar potential disruptions when the No. 1 Longhorns face No. 14 Tennessee on Saturday.
