The SEC filed an amended complaint against LSU on Tuesday morning and has scheduled a vote on whether to expel the Tigers from the conference, per ESPN and Yahoo Sports. The league claims it has the votes to remove LSU as both sides clash over the eligibility of players who signed NFL contracts, according to CBS Sports.

The conflict centers on LSU's potential plans to add ex-NFL players to its roster. Per Yahoo Sports, the SEC is serious about expelling coach Lane Kiffin and LSU from the conference if they use former NFL players. ESPN reported the conference has filed legal filings seeking the authority to expel the school.

Meanwhile, LSU's football program has made a strong early impression this season. Quarterback Sam Leavitt and defender Jordan Ross both won SEC weekly awards after the Tigers' Week 1 victory over Clemson, per Yahoo Sports. Transfer running back Dilin Jones also earned praise from Kiffin for his debut performance.
