At $18 million annually, Benton's deal matches fellow Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward. While the extension represents a franchise record for a defensive lineman, the per-year value ranks approximately 20th among defensive tackles league-wide. Benton, 25, has appeared in all 17 games for the Steelers in recent seasons.
