Steelers running back Jaylen Warren was named AFC offensive player of the week for Week 5, the first time he has won the award, per Pro Football Talk and Yahoo Sports. Yahoo called the game a "career day." Behind the Steel Curtain's Joey Bray wrote that Warren scored on plays of 80 and 50 yards in the 34-22 win over the Colts at Acrisure Stadium.

Our box score matches that account. Warren ran 15 times for 101 yards and a touchdown, with a long run of 50 yards. He also caught all six of his targets for 87 yards and a score, including the 80-yarder. That adds up to 188 yards from scrimmage on 21 touches. No other Steeler had a rushing or receiving line in the game's top-line box score. The reporting we have doesn't say how the 80-yard catch developed, and we haven't seen the voting details.

The two plays also drove much of Pittsburgh's efficiency. The Steelers gained 352 yards at 6.5 per play on 54 snaps, while Indianapolis had 332 yards at 4.8 on 69 snaps. The Steelers ran for 5.8 yards a carry, and the Colts managed 2.8. Pittsburgh had no turnovers and went 2-for-2 in the red zone.

The game also pushes Warren's season totals well past last year's pace. Through five games he has 410 rushing yards on 70 carries, 5.9 per attempt, plus 19 catches for 230 yards. He has one rushing and one receiving touchdown, and both came in this game. For comparison, in all of 2025 he had 958 rushing yards at 4.5 a carry and 40 catches for 333 yards. His 80-yard reception is already longer than his 65-yard best from last season.

The win moved the Steelers to 3-2, third in the AFC North, and ended a one-game skid after a 27-24 loss at Cleveland on Oct. 1. Before that, Pittsburgh had beaten Cincinnati 30-27 on Sept. 27. Indianapolis fell to 2-3 and sits second in the AFC South, having won 30-13 at Washington the week before.

Pittsburgh plays at Tampa Bay on Sunday, Oct. 18. Indianapolis hosts Tennessee the same day.
