The Titans released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday over an incident at the team facility. Per NFL Trade Rumors, the club declined to give any more details. Aaron Wilson then reported that a gun was involved in an altercation with a teammate. Wilson said Elliott got into a fight with fellow Titan, offensive tackle JC Latham.

Yahoo Sports describes the incident as happening in practice. Its reports say a teammate had to stop Elliott from getting a gun. SB Nation's James Dator adds the most detail. He writes that Elliott threatened a teammate and that another player intervened to talk him out of going to his vehicle. The sentence is cut off in our feed, so we can't say what Elliott was supposedly going to get there. Yahoo's headline says Elliott "nearly confronted" Latham with a gun. A Reddit post says he "went to get his gun." Nothing we have says a weapon was drawn or pointed at anyone. The outlets also differ on setting: NFL Trade Rumors says the facility, and Yahoo says practice. The Titans have not confirmed any of this.

Elliott was an active part of the defensive line this season. Our data has him at five games played with 11 total tackles (two solo, nine assisted) and no sacks or forced fumbles. Latham's most recent season in our tables is 2024, when he played 17 games. We have no 2026 line for him, so we can't say whether the incident affects his availability.

The release comes in the middle of a poor year for Tennessee. The Titans are 1-5 and fourth in the AFC South. Their one win came on Sunday, 26-20 at Indianapolis, and they had lost to Houston 26-3 a week earlier and at Baltimore 24-18 the week before that.

The Titans host Cleveland on Sunday, Oct. 25, and will play without Elliott. Neither the team nor the reporters we have say whether the league or the club plans any further action. The Titans' statement so far is only that Elliott was cut.
