The White Sox have acquired outfielder Tommy Pham from the Philadelphia Phillies, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported. The Phillies will receive cash considerations in return, per the Chicago Sun-Times.

Pham had been in the minor leagues since his release by the Mets in April and never appeared in a major league game for Philadelphia. He had no clear path to a promotion when rosters expand Tuesday. The White Sox are expected to select him to their major league roster at that time, according to Passan.

The acquisition comes as the White Sox also traded for outfielder Jake Cave from the Rays for cash. Cave was on a minor league deal with Tampa Bay and had not been selected to the major league roster, making him eligible to be traded after the deadline.
