The Yankees placed left-hander Ryan Weathers on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm flexor strain ahead of Sunday's game against Toronto, per multiple reports. The team simultaneously activated outfielder Cody Bellinger from the 10-day injured list and recalled right-hander Brendan Beck from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Weathers started in the Yankees' 4-3 loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday. Per CBS Sports, the pitcher said Sunday that he does not believe the injury will end his season. Yahoo Sports reported that the Yankees remain hopeful for his return "in some capacity," though the reports do not specify a timeline for his availability beyond the standard 15-day IL designation.
