The New York Yankees will face the Los Angeles Angels on Monday with right-hander Elmer Rodriguez on the mound in pursuit of his first major league victory, per Deadspin.

Ahead of the game, the Yankees claimed right-hander John Schreiber off waivers from the Royals, adding depth to their pitching staff. Meanwhile, outfielder George Lombard Jr. is day to day with right knee discomfort and will not receive cortisone injections, per Yahoo Sports.

Yahoo Sports' predictions favor the Yankees, citing their elite run suppression as the primary reason to back New York in the matchup.
