Three women contacted police to report abuse by Josh Jacobs after his May arrest, according to police records released late on Friday. Pro Football Talk reported that the women described incidents similar to the one that led to the arrest. ESPN reported that the arrest followed an altercation with his then-girlfriend, and that the new reports came after it.

The outlets differ on the count. Acme Packing Company, citing NBC 26, wrote that a second woman had accused Jacobs, per the new records. It said she went to police in June, after the first investigation became public. That investigation ended with Jacobs pleading no contest to abuse and criminal damage to property charges. Only Acme's summary mentions the plea and the June timing. Its summary cuts off mid-sentence, so we can't say what else the woman stated. The ESPN and PFT summaries don't describe what the three women alleged beyond calling it abuse or similar incidents. Whether the other accounts led to any further investigation or charges isn't in what we have.

The news lands during a steady stretch for the Packers, who are 5-3 and fourth in the NFC North. They beat Carolina 27-19 at Lambeau Field on Thursday, Oct. 29, after a 20-17 loss at Detroit on Oct. 25. Before that they beat Dallas 23-13 on Oct. 18. Jacobs was a central part of the Carolina win: he carried 21 times for 39 yards and a touchdown, and caught six passes for 13 yards and another score.
