Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver has been ruled out for Thursday Night Football against the Detroit Lions after sustaining a hip injury during pregame warmups. The injury came as a surprise, with ESPN noting Oliver was an unexpected inactive for the Week 2 contest.
Oliver, 28, was selected by the Bills with the ninth overall pick in the 2022 draft out of the University of Houston. The Lions will be without some depth as well, though cornerback D.J. Reed, who was questionable with a foot injury, is active for the matchup.
The Bills are relatively healthy otherwise heading into the early-season division matchup at their newly christened Highmark Stadium.
