Steve Pikiell disclosed his cancer diagnosis Wednesday, per multiple outlets. According to Yahoo Sports, Pikiell sought medical attention a few months ago after "not feeling 100%." ESPN reported there is no set timetable for his full return to the program.

Brandin Knight will lead the Rutgers basketball program during Pikiell's treatment. CBS Sports quoted Pikiell as saying he has a "kick-ass game plan to finish treatment" and that Knight will run the program "when I'm not able to." Pikiell has coached at Rutgers since 2016.
