Lyle Odelein, a defenseman who won a Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1993, has died at 58. Odelein played 16 NHL seasons across eight organizations: the Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Phoenix Coyotes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Yahoo Sports reported that he served as the Blue Jackets' first captain. His playing career extended through the 2005-06 season.
