The San Francisco Giants have placed Logan Webb on the 15-day injured list, ending his season. Per MLB Trade Rumors, Webb is sidelined with a blister on his right middle finger. The Giants also shut down infielder Nate Furman with an oblique strain.
Victor Bericoto and righty Duncan Davitt will replace Webb and Furman on the active roster. McCovey Chronicles noted that Webb's sinker usage had declined this season, a trend that may now be explained by the blister injury.
Webb's placement on the IL represents another significant blow to a Giants roster already depleted by injuries and trades. According to a Reddit post, Jung Hoo Lee is now the only position player from San Francisco's Opening Day lineup who remains both on the team and healthy. The Opening Day roster included several players since traded away or sidelined, including second baseman Luis Arraez, third baseman Matt Chapman, outfielder Heliot Ramos, and catcher Patrick Bailey.
