Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg said he 'lost all respect' for Luka Doncic in his first NBA game. 'I told him he sucks,' he said. CBS Sports' Sam Quinn wrote that Lendeborg was quickly fed up with the 'whining and complaining' from the Lakers star. Yahoo Sports' Chris Cwik quoted him in a slightly different form: 'I was telling him he sucks.' Sportsnet described a back-and-forth between the two 'all game.' ESPN's headline carries only the 'lost all respect' line. The feeds we have don't say what Dončić complained about, or whether he answered.

The game was Wednesday's 127-105 Lakers win at Crypto.com Arena. Dončić finished with a game-high 28 points, as Yahoo noted. He made 7 of 18 from the field, 5 of 12 from three and 9 of 9 at the line, and added 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals in 30 minutes. He also had six turnovers. The Lakers were +31 with him on the floor.

Lendeborg, meanwhile, had a solid debut on a night the Warriors never led by more than three. He scored 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting, with 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, and hit one of his four three-point attempts. He played 29 minutes, picked up four fouls, and the Warriors were outscored by 21 points while he played. The box score lists one technical foul on Golden State and none on Los Angeles. It doesn't say who drew it, so we can't connect it to the exchange.

The Lakers shot 57 percent and made 11 of 28 threes. The Warriors shot 41 percent and made 8 of 36 from deep. Los Angeles led by 12 after the third quarter, 91-68, and Golden State outscored them 37-25 in the fourth with the game already decided. The loss left Golden State 0-1 and fourth in the Pacific. The Lakers are 1-0 and top the division.

Golden State doesn't have much time to dwell on it. The Warriors host Memphis tonight, then play at Phoenix on Saturday. The Lakers host the Clippers tonight and visit Utah on Sunday. Lendeborg and Dončić won't meet again in the next few games on either schedule.
