Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have finalized a two-year contract extension worth $116 million, ESPN reported Friday. The deal keeps the two-time MVP in the Bay Area through the 2028-29 season, marking his 20th year with the franchise.
Curry took less than a maximum contract to reach the agreement, per ESPN and CBS Sports. Yahoo Sports reported the extension includes a player option for the 2028-29 season. According to one report, Curry was limited to a two-year extension due to the NBA's "over-38 rule."
Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. said in a statement: "We couldn't be more excited about reaching an agreement with Stephen and extending his historic career with the Warriors." Curry has previously stated his intention to retire with the Warriors, and this extension solidifies that commitment.
