The Packers signed running back Pierre Strong Jr. to the active roster on Thursday, adding depth to their backfield with Chris Brooks unavailable for practice. Strong, 27, was previously on Green Bay's practice squad.

Brooks left the Packers' Week 4 game with an ankle injury and has not practiced since, per Acme Packing Company. The signing gives Green Bay a fourth running back option ahead of Sunday's game against the Bears, according to multiple outlets.

Strong was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round (No. 127 overall) and was a multi-time All-American at South Dakota State during his five-year college career.
