Saquon Barkley is back in the Eagles lineup. Philadelphia is playing without quarterback Jalen Hurts and trying to end a four-game losing streak against the Cowboys, per Yahoo Sports' live coverage of the NFC East game. Our box score shows the game at Philadelphia 14, Dallas 10 with 6:20 left in the second quarter. The game was still in progress when we pulled the numbers.

Barkley has 6 carries for 50 yards and a touchdown, an 8.3-yard average with a long of 29. He also has one catch for 12 yards. Tanner McKee is at quarterback for Philadelphia and is 5 of 7 for 66 yards with no turnovers. Dameon Pierce has the Eagles' other touchdown, and Jake Elliott is 2 for 2 on extra points. The Eagles have had just 17 plays and two drives, but they have averaged 7.8 yards per play and are 2 for 2 in the red zone.

Barkley's return adds to a thin season line. He has played four games and has 36 carries for 182 yards (5.1 a carry) with no touchdowns and one fumble. He did not carry in the Week 5 loss to the Rams until the final stretch of the game's logged work, finishing with 2 carries for 8 yards. His 50 yards and a score tonight are already more than he had in three of those four games.

Dallas has controlled the ball more. The Cowboys have 28 plays and 14:28 of possession, against the Eagles' 17 plays and 9:12. They lead 170 yards to 132. Dak Prescott is 7 of 12 for 75 yards with a touchdown, a 104.5 rating, and CeeDee Lamb caught that score. Javonte Williams has 63 yards on 9 carries, and Brandon Aubrey hit a 55-yard field goal. Dallas has also been penalized six times for 39 yards, while Philadelphia has none.

The stakes are the same for both clubs. Each came in 2-4, and Yahoo's feeds call it a wide-open NFC East. Blogging The Boys' David Halprin wrote that Dallas "desperately" needs a win to keep hope of turning the year around. He also described the Eagles as having a "terrible year on and off the field with controversies, retirements, trades and injuries." He didn't specify those events, and we haven't verified them. One Yahoo-hosted Seahawks fan chat framed the Eagles as "what's left" of the team. It also said the winner would be one back in the win column for first place. That matches the table: the Giants lead at 4-2, and the winner tonight would reach 3-4. Both teams have point differentials in the red, Philadelphia at -31 and Dallas at -8.

Philadelphia's skid has been tight. It lost 24-20 to the Rams, 19-17 at Jacksonville and 25-14 to Carolina. Dallas has lost two in a row, 24-16 to Tampa Bay and 23-13 at Green Bay, after a 34-30 win at Houston on Oct. 4. Both teams are back on the field on Sunday, Nov. 1. The Eagles play at Washington, and the Cowboys host Arizona.
