The NFL will not discipline the Eagles over how they handled Jalen Hurts' blood clots, according to a report from The Athletic's Jonathan Jones, who is not the Eagles cornerback Jonathan Jones. As Bleeding Green Nation summarized the report, the league does not believe there was wrongdoing in the Eagles letting Hurts play in their Week 5 game in London. CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani wrote that the NFL concluded the process to clear Hurts for that game was handled appropriately.

The feeds we have don't say what the league's review examined, who was interviewed, or what medical steps were taken before Hurts was cleared. They also don't say when the clots were found. Nothing we have includes a statement from the Eagles, the NFL or Hurts, so the finding rests on the Jones report alone.

Yahoo Sports' Chris Cwik adds the outlook for Hurts. He wrote that the quarterback is expected to miss the 2026 season because of the issue. None of the other summaries mention that timeline, so it is one outlet's line for now. The summaries also don't say whether a procedure or recovery period is involved.

Our game logs show Hurts played in five of the Eagles' six games. His last appearance was Oct. 11 at Jacksonville, where he went 21-of-40 for 220 yards and a touchdown in a 19-17 loss. He did not play in Sunday's 25-14 home loss to Carolina. For the season he has completed 57.8% of his passes for 933 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions, with 13 sacks taken. He also has 107 rushing yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.

The team has struggled without him and, by the numbers, for a while before that. Philadelphia is 2-4 and has lost four straight, including the 24-20 home loss to the Rams on Oct. 4 and the Jacksonville game. Its run differential is minus-31. That puts the Eagles third in the NFC East, a game and a half behind the 3-2 Giants.

The Eagles' next game is Monday, Oct. 26 against Dallas, which is also 2-4. The practical question is who plays quarterback and for how long, and Cwik's report points to the rest of the season. The league's finding closes the question of discipline, but we have no word from the team on Hurts' timeline.
