Carlos Correa will not rejoin the Astros this season, manager Joe Espada confirmed to reporters Tuesday. Correa has been sidelined since May 4 with a torn tendon in his ankle, per Yahoo Sports.
According to MLB Trade Rumors, Espada indicated there was no specific setback or new injury recurrence. Rather, the daily workload required for Correa's recovery became too demanding to continue the rehabilitation process, per Espada's comments to The Athletic's Chandler Rome.
