The Mariners are not eliminated from playoff contention yet , just the wild card. The White Sox' win over the Tigers today officially ended the Mariners' chances of a wild card, but they're not yet eliminated from AL West contention. For the Mariners to somehow make the playoffs, they have to win their six remaining games while the Rangers and Astros both lose them, which is extremely unlikely. If the Mariners lose another game, or the Rangers win again (they hold the tiebreaker), then the Mariners would be officially eliminated from playoff contention. This unfortunately means the
