The Hanshin Tigers of the NPB have approved 3B Teruaki Sato the Central League Triple Crown winner, to exercise his right under the posting system.

As you already know, this 28-year-old 3B/RF posted a .306 BA/106 RBI/39 HR during the “dead-ball era” of NPB, winning the Central League Triple Crown. He is a power hitter who has been going head-to-head with Okamoto and Murakami over the past few years. Last year, his defense at third base was solid, and he won a Gold Glove, but he’s been struggling quite a bit this year. He will travel to the United States in November to hold talks with various MLB teams.
