Stadiums have been shrinking, and it's pricing out regular fans

Since 2000: 17 teams have opened new stadiums. Every single one, without exception, is smaller than its predecessor. Nearly every other stadium has also lost capacity, using methods that range from from Tropicana Field (closing the upper deck) to Progressive Field (multiple renovations dropping capacity from around 42k to 34k). Both new stadiums scheduled to open, Vegas and Tampa, are set to be smaller than the league's current smallest (except for Sacramento) stadium: 33k in Vegas and 31k in Tampa compared to Cleveland's 34k.
